Used Equipment - Why work with us

WCS training program

Ports worldwide do have experienced personnel in maintaining terminal equipment. In case of complex breakdowns, however, it can take a substantial amount of time to resolve these issues. In most terminals, technicians occasionally encounter such situations in their daily routine and do not have the time or expertise to correctly diagnose the problems. World Crane Services, through extensive hands-on experience, have learnt that, while troubleshooting, in occasions, technical staff are unaware of basic principles of the equipment and, through lack of knowledge, concentrate on aspects which are not relevant to the actual problem. This has led World Crane Services to launch a conceptual training program called “KNOW YOUR CRANE”. Th object of this program is to make the technician understand that:

  • Application knowledge is more important in the crane during troubleshooting than the knowledge of control systems;
  • Control systems are only the software tools to be utilized during the breakdown;
  • Frequent breakdowns on cranes can be assessed and can be eliminated if these are added on to the preventive maintenance tasks;
  • PLC Program of crane is the integration of electrical schematics and practical application of the equipment;
  • Diagnosis of Drives and testing of integral parts without dismantling the units;
  • Adjustments and monitoring on the hydraulic systems, brakes and other auxiliaries are equally important for making the crane running to its full efficiency.

In delivering the training program more focused towards customer, the training course will

  • be undertaken at client’s premises with the whole analysis and explanation of their equipment with their controls integrated in the training;
  • include basic crane concepts with the importance of each component on the crane with the awareness of preventing a breakdown on these components;
  • include crane control systems to monitor, modify and diagnose crane applications;
  • also include the analysis of past and present breakdowns with implementation of rectification procedures in to your regular preventive maintenance tasks;
  • be practical, involving several visits to the various cranes on site to demonstrate issues learned in the classroom.
