The electrically operated Rail Maintenance Platform (RMP) is the latest innovation from WCS in crane maintenance safety. The platform contains wirelessly operated telescopic beams (powered by an on-board generator) for positioning of the RMP on the crane rails, and is then connected to the cranes power supply via a retractable reel and self-driven for movement along the crane beam/boom. The platform allows the maintenance personnel to work on the crane rails from safely within the confines of the platform. The wheel span is 13m which also allows for replacement of entire 12m section of rail. This functionality is currently not rivalled by competitors in the market. 4 x jib cranes are provided for the attachment of chain blocks, and a small, hooked, platform is located on the exterior of the platform for removed sections of rail. 4 x specially designed lifting points are provided for the hoisting of the lightweight RMP from ground level, into position on the rail, using the cranes maintenance crane. The entire platform is modular and can be easily disassembled for storage and transport inside of a 40ft container (40ft container not provided). See our videos for more details.
